2004 Detail Day - Round 1 (May 8, 2004)
Murphy's Law: Washing your car will result in environmental precipitation.
Many of us were high from the warm temperatures felt the day before. The sun and clear skies signaled a great start to the Mother's Day weekend...or so we thought. We remained optimistic until the rainy hail began to fall from above. The bitter damp cold wind made you think we were deep in the month of March.
However, the dreary weather did not affect the spirits of the members that showed up. George Pereira from Mr. Buffer arrived and still opened up shop. Somehow, we managed to attract some business for George (even though he was technically closed). To pass the time, some were able to get their engine bays cleaned. Others passed the time away watching darkpuppet (a.k.a. Steve P.) in his spot on Tuner Transformation.
We ended the day with a great meal at East Side Mario's near Sherway Gardens, and a cruise along Lakeshore Boulevard.
Thanks to everyone who came out for the event. Thanks especially go out to SVT Dean (a.k.a. Dean E.) and George Pereira of Mr. Buffer for setting up this annual event. Don't worry, we'll have another Detail Day to make up for this wet one.
