OFOC Spring 2003 at our first Detail Day @ Mr. Buffer

Performance Goals

To measure success, one needs to determine a starting point, proceed upon a given path, and compare the actual results against the anticipated results.

That's the purpose of the dynamometer. Enthusiasts have long used this tool as a measuring stick to see whether their money spent on performance upgrades and tweaking have the desired effect. It's also one great way to establish bragging rights on and off message boards.

Just a note: These power and torque numbers were obtained at the wheel. As with all dyno numbers, factors such as weather, temperature, humidity, mileage, and dyno operator can really affect the numbers produced. Hopefully, these numbers will give you an idea of what your Focus can do.

Dyno Day @ DaSilva Racing (May 15, 2004)

DaSilva Racing, a premier affiliate of OFOC, approached our members in holding a Dyno Day. DaSilva Racing recently installed a DynoJet chassis dynamometer on their premises, becoming a full-service performance shop.

We had an excellent turnout for our event. A great range of Foci came out, including mainly stock Zetec engines to supercharged SVT engines. All in all, everyone came away with a better understanding of where their performance goals and objectives now lie. Below are images from the event. As the figures trickle in, we'll update their profiles.

Special thanks go out to Diego, Murray, Joe, and all the crew at DaSilva Racing for allowing the use of their facilities.
